Brady and I had a fun Memorial Weekend starting Friday with a trip over to visit EWU where we are planning to attend in the fall and a trip to the temple in Spokane to see Brady’s Aunt Pam and Uncle Ray get sealed. It ended up being a long but really fun day together. I’m grateful for the blessings we have received from being committed to attending the temple at least once a month. Every day we go is a special day for us and leaves us with a lot of memories. It was neat for me to attend a sealing for the first time that wasn’t my own. After the sealing we had dinner at Wolf Inn Lodge provided by our new friends the Holloway’s. Early the next morning Brady, Ryan and Russell played in the annual Moses Lake 3-on-3 tourney. We were there from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. It was a long but fun day to watch the boys play and hang out with family and friends all day. The weather was beautiful and hot and we all got a nice burn or tan. We had dinner at Coulston’s and then Brady and I bailed out on the parade so Brady could go to bed. He was so tired after his long day of playing and fell asleep at 8 and slept 12 hours! I spent the evening doing the usual cleaning house and getting caught up. Sunday was Ryan’s farewell. Russell, Wayne and Ryan spoke and all did awesome! Brady and Aunt Sherri sang a musical number with Aunt Paula accompanying them. And I got to say the closing prayer. During Ryan’s talk the fire alarm went off, distracting Ryan only a little until he came back with “I must be smokin’ hott up here for those alarms to go off.” He did great at bringing the spirit back, saying that the Spirit could speak over the noise trying to over-power what he wanted to say. After sacrament meeting I had to run back to the 3rd ward so I could play the piano in Primary. It is now my second official calling and it will be great for me to keep up on the piano. We spent the afternoon and evening with lots of friends and family again and just enjoyed relaxing and visiting. The weather continued to be perfect which is a great blessing as there was not enough room in the house for everyone. That night we got an offer to go to Silverwood Theme Park the next day. So Monday, Memorial Day, Brady and I got up early to catch a ride with Ryan and Olivia. We had a really fun day in the park, Brady enjoying more of the rides than I did. My fear of roller coasters (heights) prohibited me from riding a lot but Olivia is the same way so we spent a lot of time watching the boys ride. Our friend’s family provided us with a taco dinner after the park closed at 6 and it was a perfect end to a great day. Ryan will be leaving to night to spend the night in Spokane and flies out for the MTC early Wednesday morning. We are all excited for him but it is still sad to see him leave. We are glad Wayne is recovering so well and quickly from having an emergency gall-bladder removal about 10 days ago. I have been starting to work a again for Sodexho, the catering business based on BBCC campus. I really enjoy it there and will only be working a few more days until school is out. I also got more work-study hours for softball so will be working in the gym a lot again for the next couple weeks. Brady and I still have lots of fun activities planned for the next couple of weeks; between that and school work we should stay pretty busy!
